Just had a delicious roast with my girlfriend. We love the food & service here in general but the food today was superb! Really well cooked and very generous portions. Highly recommend the Angel! Tim n Laura

As per their Facebook there are new owners and it will no longer be 100% GF in the new year. Our second time eating here on the way back from Whitby. I have celiac disease. It is so nice to be able to order and have anything I want and not have to worry and over explain why I need it that way. My husband can eat anything. We both love it here. He had the seafood chowder and I had fish and chips. Everything was excellent. The service, atmosphere and food.

Great place. We had a few recommendations for it as everything is gluten-free, and so we decided to give it a try. We were impressed even as we arrived. Lovely grounds and tastefully decorated inside. Very friendly staff. And dogs are allowed, too, so there were several 4-legged guests to coo over. And the food was a delight. We ordered far too much getting carried away that everything was GF.

The food is absolutely gorgeous , so fresh and flavourful, the staff made it absolutely no problem to cater for my allergies, so many options available which was nice too see considering not many places have a variety of what i can eat with my amount of allergies, the customer care was phenomenal, the atmosphere was amazing. Definitely cant wait to go back and would totally recommend to anyone passing by for a quick drink or a delicious meal with family or friends!

We haven’t been to The Angel for 18 months as it lost its appeal under the last owners, it was cold, the fires weren’t lit and the atmosphere had significantly changed! Thankfully the new owners appear to be turning all that round! It was welcoming, the fires were lit, the service was amazing! The food was brilliant too...thanks to Ryan in the kitchen! Our plates were full of tasty, wholesome food! It was lovely to be back! Good luck to the new owners who will hopefully get the locals back and make the pub as good as it was under the last but one owners! We will definitely be back.

We were indecisive about booking due to me having so many food allergies but popped in to have a drink and a look through the menu. It was very busy with a party booking but it was explained to us that we could have a table with a delay on food service - it was worth the wait. Lovely food, friendly staff, nice wine and incredibly dog friendly - one to remember when returning with our doggo. Felt incredibly safe with the entire kitchen being gluten free , well deserved 5 stars

Me and my partner absolutely loved our experience at the angel. It started off with a warm cosy atmosphere and welcoming staff. On reach to our table, we were given 2 menus with a wide range of meals. Any questions were answered confidentially not to mention very informative. After we had settled down we got politely asked if we were ready for drinks, after a good look at all the tasty meals we decided and ordered. We received cutlery in time, the food was piping hot, the presentation of the food was immaculate and very tasteful, with a range of flavours on each dish, not to mention big portions!! In between times we were checked on asked if we wanted anymore drinks, showing how attentive the staff were. Once cleared, we were asked if we would like to see the desert menu, which we did. The desert came out quickly, hot and delicious. We discussed after if there was any negative sides to our experience, and honestly, we couldn’t find fault with anything, 10/10! We tipped, and on our way out we had lovely customers greeting us and other services for cold, exhausted walkers (towels, slippers and lovely fires).

Well what can we say amazing lovely atmosphere amazing food the tart was amazing very a la carte seating they do gluten free beer food and deserts it’s all 100% freshly cooked. UPDATE NEW OWNERSHIP I called up to enq about there coeliac protection and there are loads of locations that say they understand and don’t , so I asked about prep and friers breads and the man was very brunt and I mean brunt saying he had explained this to loads of people then said it’s 50/50 leave it with you and hung up . There is no way I will ATTEND his premises with an attitude like that. That’s another eatery off the list. Let’s hope there service is better if you do attend good luck
